nFlux Ethical AI Manifesto
At nFlux, we believe that AI and technology should be a tool to amplify human potential—not replace it (hence our tagline “Amplifying Humans”). That’s why we’ve crafted our Ethical AI Manifesto: a set of principles that guide everything we do and aim for.
Our Decalog is rooted in our own moral values and reflection, and it takes inspiration from globally recognized frameworks like UNESCO’s AI Ethics Recommendation (2021) and the upcoming EU AI Act (2024). These principles, built on neutrality and fairness, are paving the way for a future where AI benefits everyone.
We are technology lovers and strive to be at the forefront of AI innovation. While we keep JARVIS as our inspiration… but we wouldn’t like our AI to go HAL 9000 and contribute to creating “Skynet.”
1. Amplify, Don’t Replace
Our AI is designed to assist and enhance human skills, not take their place. It acts as an intelligent ally—like JARVIS—supporting human efforts and helping to achieve more without stepping into human roles.
2. Human in the Steering Wheel
No matter how advanced AI becomes, humans remain in control. Our AI may provide guidance and suggestions, but decisions always rest in human hands. It’s there to assist, not take over.
3. Fair and Unbiased
Our AI systems are designed to be fair and impartial. While no AI can entirely eliminate bias, we are committed to ensuring that our AI does not contribute to existing biases and makes decisions equitably across the board.
4. Inclusivity for All
Our AI is built with inclusivity at its core, ensuring that it works for people from all walks of life, without marginalizing or excluding any groups. It is designed to serve the diverse needs of society, making AI a tool for everyone.
5. Transparent and Traceable
Explainability matters. Our AI systems are designed to ensure that the reasoning behind decisions can always be traced and understood. Transparency builds trust, and trust is essential when humans rely on AI.
6. Personal Privacy is Non-Negotiable
Our users’ privacy is theirs. We strive to use as little personal data as possible, ensuring that individuals are not singled out. Our AI systems are built to comply with privacy regulations, and we protect user data with the highest levels of security and confidentiality.
7. Safety First, Always
Inspired by Asimov’s first law, our AI is designed to ensure safety and prevent harm. Its primary focus is safeguarding human well-being, never allowing harm through action or inaction.
8. We Walk the Talk
At nFlux, we stand behind the behavior of our AI systems. We are responsible for the impact our AI has on users and society. If something goes wrong, we take ownership and are committed to making it right.
9. Responsible Innovation
